Nearly 2,000 cyclists will take to Denver’s most bike-friendly streets, dedicated lanes, trails, and parks on Saturday, September 28, 2024, for the Coldwell Banker Denver Century Ride. Celebrating its 13th year, this legacy bike tour invites cyclists of all abilities to explore Denver on two wheels as they “cycle the city.”

Ride Details and Routes

Starting and ending at The Shops at Northfield in Central Park (8340 Northfield Boulevard, Denver, CO 80238), the Ride features four courses: 100 miles, 85 miles, 50 miles, and 25 miles. These routes highlight many of the bicycle commuter paths that connect the city and its surrounding communities. Cyclists will pass notable landmarks such as Union Station and Coors Field and traverse various city parks. Depending on their chosen distance, participants may also climb Lookout Mountain and glide along the Hogback.

The Denver Century Ride’s four courses weave through cycling lanes, roadways, and biking paths throughout the city, offering options for a casual ride, a daily commute, or a challenging workout.

Unique Challenges and Support

“What makes the Denver Century Ride so unique is its complexity,” explained Ride Director Sabra Nagel. “Organizing a ride in an urban area like Denver and its surrounding municipalities requires a lot of cooperation and support from all the entities involved. The Cities of Denver and Lakewood have graciously allowed us to use their parks and multi-use trails, making this event special.”

The Denver Police Department supports the ride with more than 50 officers ensuring the first 16 miles are as smooth as possible. Additional assistance comes from the Colorado State Patrol, City of Golden PD, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Morrison PD, Littleton PD, and Cherry Hills Village PD, making sure the ride is safe and well-coordinated throughout.

This is a fully supported ride with aid stations, course marshals, and bike mechanics from Epic Mountain Gear. Cyclists of all experience levels and abilities will have access to meals and nutritional supplements to keep them fueled.

Post-Ride Celebration and Community Impact

After the ride, participants and their families can enjoy Denver’s best post-ride celebration at the Breckenridge Brewery Post Ride Street Party at The Shops at Northfield Stapleton. The celebration will feature frosty beers, fantastic food options, and a lifestyle expo, providing a perfect end to a day of cycling.

The Coldwell Banker Denver Century Ride is a Champion Partner of Bicycle Colorado, having contributed over $100,000 to the state’s leading cycling advocacy organization. “This partnership helps us ensure that everyone who wants to ride a bike has access to safe cycling,” said Pete Piccolo, Executive Director of Bicycle Colorado.

Last year, the ride directly contributed $25,000 to local charitable organizations, including Bicycle Colorado. Additionally, the 2023 Charitable Partners Program generated more than $200,000 in fundraising pledges and donations for various nonprofit causes.

Join the Coldwell Banker Denver Century Ride to experience the best of Denver on two wheels, and be part of a community event that supports safe cycling and local charities.
